So much time and effort went into producing the SKA school video that all the students were thrilled to finally view the finished version. But in a real “v’nahafoch hu,” the video shown actually introduced the Color War ’22 breakout on Tuesday, February 8!

Mrs. Rivky Babad, the elementary school assistant principal, explained, “We strive to provide a rigorous and exciting academic education. Alongside the academics, we also put a strong emphasis on midos tovos and personal growth. These lessons are interwoven throughout the academic curriculum, through lessons from Chumash, Parshah, and Yahadus, and stories and other activities in the limudei chol department, as well.”

The third grade talmidos of the Bnos Malka Academy held their annual Rashi Breakfast. After the students have completed learning “Rashi Script” they celebrate the momentous occasion with a special breakfast. The students were privileged to hear from Rabbi Weichselbaum, the Menahel, speak about his experiences walking in Rashi’s footsteps literally. Rabbi Weichselbaum spoke about how learning Rashi is integral part of learning and understanding Torah, and it is a skill they will use for the rest of their lives.

Last week, the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach (HALB) held its fifth annual History Day Fair as part of the larger National History Day Competition. The National History Day competition is an event in which more than a half a million students participate each year. The projects examine an event in history and how it relates to a national theme.
