Netanya, Israel — Sanz Medical Center – Laniado Hospital has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to outstanding patient care, earning national recognition in the Israeli Ministry of Health’s 2025 report on the prevention of hospital-acquired infections.
Among hospitals across Israel, Laniado achieved exceptional results with zero hospital-acquired bloodstream infections in its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and zero catheter-associated urinary tract infections in its Surgical Department—an extraordinary accomplishment in two of the hospital’s most vulnerable patient populations.
These achievements are especially meaningful during a year in which hospitals throughout Israel were forced to relocate much of their operations to protected underground facilities because of the ongoing security situation. Despite these unprecedented challenges, Laniado’s physicians, nurses, and infection prevention specialists maintained the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
“Preventing infections is one of the most important measures of quality healthcare,” said Professor Zvi Shimoni, Medical Director of Sanz Medical Center – Laniado Hospital. “These results reflect the dedication of our staff, rigorous clinical protocols, and an unwavering commitment to protecting every patient entrusted to our care.”
Nadav Chen, CEO of Sanz Medical Center – Laniado Hospital, added, “Achieving zero infections in our NICU and Surgical Department is a tribute to the extraordinary professionalism and compassion of our teams. We will continue investing in advanced technology, education, and innovation to ensure that Laniado remains one of Israel’s safest hospitals.”
For more than fifty years, Laniado Hospital has embodied the vision that Torah, medicine, and compassion belong together. This latest national recognition reflects not only clinical excellence, but also the hospital’s enduring commitment to treating every patient with dignity, expertise, and heartfelt care.
