Please take a moment to say a kapitel T’hilim for Rav Pesach Yosef ben Hinda – HaRav Paysach J. Krohn shlita. Our beloved and renowned maggid, mohel, and author recently suffered a moderate stroke at the Agudath Israel of America convention in Stamford, Connecticut. The incident occurred shortly after the Kew Gardens-based rabbi delivered an inspiring lecture last Erev Shabbos. Thanks to the swift intervention of Waterbury Hatzalah paramedics, Rabbi Krohn was transported to a local hospital, where he underwent treatment at the ICU. By Motza’ei Shabbos, the rabbi was out of critical condition and was awaiting transport to a suitable rehabilitation center.

The Mohel’s Mohel
Rabbi Krohn, a fifth-generation mohel, became the youngest certified mohel at the age of 21, and has since performed the bris milah thousands of times over several decades. Known for his expertise and compassionate approach, he has brought joy and dignity to families in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and beyond. His ceremonies are celebrated for their spiritual depth, inclusiveness, and meticulous attention to detail. Families involved in a bris milah performed by Rabbi Krohn often speak of the unique warmth and meaning he brings to the occasion. To further enrich this mitzvah, Rabbi Krohn offers families complimentary copies of his authoritative book on Bris Milah (published by ArtScroll) and an interactive digital guide to assist them through the ceremony. His efforts to educate and involve families have left a lasting impression on generations. Rabbi Krohn’s legacy in this sacred tradition continues through his son, Rabbi Eliezer Krohn, and his son-in-law, Rabbi Ephraim Perlstein, who carry forward the family’s holy work.
Preserving Jewish History
For nearly two decades, Rabbi Krohn has led inspirational tours to historic Jewish sites across the globe, including Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Italy, and Morocco. These tours, which explore former yeshivos, synagogues, gravesites, and concentration camps, bring to life the rich tapestry of Jewish history. His passionate and insightful lectures delivered at these sites connect participants to their heritage, emphasizing his belief: “A Jew who is not linked to the past has no hope of being connected to the future.” These experiences have been documented in video form, serving as a resource for personal enrichment and educational use.
A Prayer for Healing
As Rabbi Krohn faces this challenging time, we call upon the community to join together in heartfelt prayer for his recovery. May Rav Pesach Yosef ben Hinda be granted a r’fuah sh’leimah (a complete healing), and may he continue to inspire and uplift klal Yisrael for many years to come.
