Emet’s Monday Night Live launched its second summer season with a tremendous turnout. After a record attendance of more than 150 college students on opening night, the second session surpassed it, with more than 200 students gathering for captivating Torah programming and relaxed summer vibes. Held at sunset on the rooftop of One 88 Plaza in Fresh Meadows, the evenings exemplified the warmth and family-like atmosphere of the Emet community.

Rabbi Reuven Kigel, Emet’s Campus Director, explained the program’s growing appeal: “Even when regular campus classes are not in session, Torah learning and the relationships students build at Emet continue. Monday Night Live creates a special opportunity for Fellowship alumni to stay connected and for prospective students to experience the learning and friendships they can become part of in the fall.”

On both evenings, guests enjoyed a buffet dinner as they arrived. Friends reunited, new friendships formed, and interested students met Emet rabbis and staff. In addition to Rabbi Kigel, the programs featured divrei Torah and words of inspiration from Rabbi Akiva Rutenberg and Rabbi Mordechai Kraft. Rabbi Benzion Klatzko also made a special appearance during the second week.

“Monday Night Live captures the best of summer at Emet,” said Sara Basiratmand Benyamin, Emet’s Program Director. “There is a fun, social energy, but the evenings are also centered on meaningful Torah and genuine connection. Students come to see friends and enjoy the rooftop experience, and they leave feeling inspired.”

Many students stayed late into the evening, continuing conversations and enjoying the rooftop atmosphere long after the formal program ended. Following such an enthusiastic response, Monday Night Live will continue throughout the summer. College students can register for upcoming Monday Night Live events at emetoutreach.org/MondayLive.
