Yeshiva Kesser Torah is a place where countless t’filos connect the community to Hashem every day. The yeshivah hosts 25 minyanim daily and remains open from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. for davening and learning. Whenever a minyan is needed, one knows it can be found there.

Yeshiva Kesser Torah invites the community to its annual melaveh malkah, marking 31 years in Kew Gardens Hills. Im yirtzeh Hashem, the event will take place at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills on Motza’ei Shabbos, January 31, at 8:00 p.m.

This year, Rabbi Yigal Haimov, Rabbi of Ohel Simcha, will be the featured speaker. The guests of honor are Dr. Uriel and Shifra Levi. There will also be a memorial presentation in memory of Reb Moshe Borowski a”h, a talmid of Rabbi Elyakim Rosenblatt zt”l, the Rosh Yeshivah. The program will feature the beautiful music of the Rosh Yeshivah zt”l.

Our community has tremendous hakaras ha’tov to Rebbetzin Trani Rosenblatt for keeping alive her husband’s legacy and vision for Yeshiva Kesser Torah. The shul is known for its quiet, heartfelt davening and Rabbi Rosenblatt’s beautiful nigunim.

The Shabbos minyan is small but warm, welcoming everyone. There is always a delicious kiddush every Shabbos after davening.

In addition, every Monday night, Rabbi Avraham Dovid Garber, Rabbi of Yeshiva Kesser Torah, offers an inspiring interactive parshah class geared for all levels at the home of Rebbetzin Rosenblatt on 68th Road. Also, in keeping with Rabbi Rosenblatt’s tradition, Rabbi Garber sends out a weekly thought-provoking parshah email. History

Yeshiva Kesser Torah’s history began decades ago under the direction of the Rosh Yeshivah, Rabbi Elyakim Getzel Rosenblatt zt”l.

Rabbi Rosenblatt was urged by his students to start Yeshiva Kesser Torah, which originated in Corona, Queens. The name came about through pure hashgachah. Rabbi Rosenblatt was sitting with one of the bachurim in his study, trying to think of a name for the yeshivah, when he noticed a sefer facing him with the title Kesser Torah. That was it!

In the 1980s, Kesser Torah flourished, teaching Torah to many full-time bachurim who have all become part of the Kesser Torah family.

In 1994, Rabbi Yair Hoffman, one of the yeshivah’s rebbeim, urged Rabbi Rosenblatt to move the yeshivah to Kew Gardens Hills so it could reach more people. Again, Rabbi Rosenblatt recalled amazing hashgachah. While driving through Kew Gardens Hills one day, Rabbi Hoffman spotted a hidden “For Sale” sign on the side of a small house. Rabbi Rosenblatt realized it was the perfect home for the yeshivah. He paid a very small deposit, and the house became the new home for Yeshiva Kesser Torah. The location proved ideal, right in the middle of Kew Gardens Hills, between the mikvah and the library.

Yeshiva Kesser Torah is known for its achdus and warmth, the legacy of Rabbi and Rebbetzin Rosenblatt. One cannot walk into the shul without being greeted warmly. Rabbi and Rebbetzin Rosenblatt created a friendly, nonjudgmental atmosphere. Rabbi Rosenblatt’s nigunim enhance the slow-paced, meaningful davening. Rabbi Rosenblatt composed three original, professionally arranged and orchestrated musical CDs. Yamim Nora’im davening is especially awe-inspiring, accompanied by Rabbi Rosenblatt’s original melodies.
