HALB is excited to announce that through a grant with the New York State Education Department, we are partnering with the organization Creative Response to Conflict to provide training to our staff in the areas of conflict resolution and social emotional learning. In addition, we will be training our fifth grade boys and girls in the area of peer mediation.

At Yeshiva Sha’arei Zion, the Kindergarten 1 students were super excited to be back at school after their Pesach vacation! The week was packed with excitement as the children baked challah with a key inside, prayed for klal Yisrael, and for Mashiach.

Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls’ 11^th Grade Marine Biology class is terrific! Our trip to the New York Aquarium in Coney Island on Wednesday, March 30, is one of the many reasons why Mrs. Aviva Lifshitz’s class is so special. Marine Biology is a super interactive class where we go on trips, have cool projects, and very interesting dissections.

Eight students from Ezra Academy attended an in-person moot court simulation at Princeton University on April 28.  The students prepared an appellate argument regarding a case created by the talented students of the Princeton University mock trial team.

Have you ever seen students beg for more school? The fifth grade girls at Yeshiva Sha’arei Zion did! The girls enjoyed a Zoom session during Pesach break because they wanted to learn more.

IVDU 5 Towns was excited to have a special Rosh Chodesh smoothie breakfast, highlighting the “blending” of all students together. Chodesh Iyar and the days of Sefiras HaOmer leading to Lag BaOmer, focus on the ideals of midos bein adam lchavero and interpersonal skills. Learning at IVDU 5 Towns has been focused on the importance of positive relationships amongst peers, including how we speak to friends and working cooperatively together.
