From as far back as I can remember, I have always loved to learn Torah. As an elementary schooler, I excelled in my Judaic subjects. In middle school, I excitedly studied every pasuk and Rashi on the study guide for the BJE high school entrance exam. I sat with my father for hours, enthusiastically memorizing pesukim and eager to uncover the answers to Rashi’s questions. In high school, I looked forward to all of my Judaic classes: Gemara, halachah, Tanach, and Jewish philosophy. It was a no-brainer that I’d continue to pursue high-level learning after high school in Israel. That year exceeded my expectations, and as it came to a close, I was certain that learning Torah would always be a central part of my life.

This is life in Israel: Imagine a daily reality where life can be interrupted instantly by a siren's wail, leaving only seconds to find shelter. For most, the instruction is simple: run to a sheltered area. But for patients confined to intensive care or undergoing surgery, running is impossible. Recent conflicts highlight the urgent need for comprehensive fortification in medical institutions. Leading the charge is Laniado Hospital in Netanya.

An anti-tank explosive beneath a child’s bed. Mortar shells beside a baby’s crib. A tunnel entrance concealed among stuffed animals. These are among the discoveries Israeli commanders describe in Naza: The Real Story, a documentary challenging allegations about Israel’s conduct in Gaza.

There are countless questions to explore in Parshas Bereishis, particularly in the Torah’s account of the creation of humanity. The Torah first tells us:

“Va’yivra Elokim es ha’adam b’tzalmo, b’tzelem Elokim bara oso, zachar u’nekeivah bara osam.”
