Over $50,000 raised
On Sunday evening, August 6, I joined neighborhood families for the annual Stahler Orchestra Music-A-Thon, now in its sixth year. The program has steadily grown and now welcomed the generosity of the Hershkowitz family, who opened their backyard to the extended Stahler family and friends for this worthy cause. Under the shade of a tent, the Stahlers set up shop and impressed their audience with classic Jewish tunes. Special thanks to Dovid Roberts, Ushi Shapiro, and Rabbi Yehoshua for adding to the entertainment, and to Moshe Finkel for standing on stilts and juggling!
The music-a-thon raised roughly $3,600, a superb figure for a concert that was similarly fantastic. A bouncy house was on hand for the younger children to enjoy. Additionally, the Stahlers prepared nosh pekalach for guests to indulge in as they enjoyed the performances. It was great to see the musicians working hand-in-hand to create such a great show!
A special shout out goes to the boys and girls from our local day camps for making an incredible difference! The youth and staff raised a whopping $46,209.24 for the wonderful work of Chai Lifeline. Camp Areivim, Camp Areivos, Avnet Country Day School, Simcha Day, Camp Chazak Boys, and Chazak Girls participated!
The camps dedicated their Chai-A-Thon campaign in honor of two special Chai Lifeline warriors: Benny and Miriam. Their donations put huge smiles on their faces as they enjoyed their experiences this summer at Camp Simcha!
Donations can still be made at www.chaiathon.rallybound.org/musicathon23.
