This past week served as the second to last for the 2025-26 school year – a milestone deserving of celebration, which the Yeshiva University High School for Girls (Central) Wildcats did in style. On Tuesday, May 26, the entire school embarked on a cruise boat for some sun, relaxation, and celebration. The boat circled the island of Manhattan, and students enjoyed the sights while doing some pre-finals bonding over catering, a live DJ, dancers, and stunning views of lower Manhattan as they circled the Statue of Liberty.
Additionally, special “Lev” awards were given out to students from each grade, celebrating the hearts of our students. And for the juniors, the fun didn’t stop there: The Class of 2027 left directly from the party boat for their annual class trip, which took them to Hershey’s Chocolate World (with a detour at SkyZone Lehigh Park for some dodgeball and jumping in the foam zone).
Back on campus, more end-of-year events dotted the calendar. On Thursday, May 28, YUHSG sent a group of its most accomplished student engineers to CIJE Innovation Day, where sophomores and juniors presented projects that have been months in the making – inventions ranging from a heated shovel that helps those with physical limitations clear snow to a wearable medical ID bracelet that displays significant information based on who is looking at it, be it a bystander or an EMT – while YUHSG’s rising sophomores, who will be competing in next year’s Innovation Day, observed. A team including juniors Emma Katz, Annabelle Klein, and Bailey Rosenstock won first place in the Engineering for Healthcare category, as well as the Best Pitch award, for their medical ID bracelet, “Wrist Assured.”
And on Friday, May 29, YUHSG paid tribute to its sports teams, academic teams, and extracurricular clubs with its annual Awards Celebration, which was marked by a breakfast and a whole roster of kudos. The awards breakfast was followed by the Senior Internship Expo, where the Class of 2026 proudly presented the findings of their recent Senior Seminar internship experiences to other students and faculty members. And on Sunday, May 31, the entire school community took part in the Celebrate Israel Parade, stepping off as a part of the procession in midtown Manhattan.
The final days of the semester at YUHSG will be full and vibrant – a fitting end to a year that led with heart. The Class of 2026 will take their own class trip to South Jersey on June 4 and 5 before marking their final milestone at the school: YUHSG’s 74th annual commencement ceremony, which will take place on Monday, June 8, at the Queensborough Community College Performing Arts Center.
