MTA joined communities across the country in participating in Shalom Task Force’s Go Purple Day, helping bring awareness to the importance of building healthy relationships. Through learning, conversation, and student leadership, the day centered students’ attention on how respect, communication, and responsibility play a role in strong and healthy connections.

Leading the initiative were MTA’s eleventh-grade Purple Fellows, Akiva Secter and Reuven Shapiro. Throughout the day, they visited tenth- and eleventh-grade shiurim to share about the work of Shalom Task Force and highlight key lessons they learned through their training. Their presentations helped open meaningful conversations about awareness, responsibility, and the role young people can play in promoting healthy relationship values.

The fellows also led an interactive workshop for ninth graders, where students explored the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics. Through thoughtful discussion and real-life friendship scenarios, students were encouraged to reflect on their own experiences and share perspectives in a supportive setting.

Programs like Go Purple Day reflect MTA’s ongoing commitment to helping students grow not only academically, but also as thoughtful, responsible young men who understand the importance of building strong and healthy relationships in their lives and communities.
