Parshas VaEira shows us the unfolding of g’ulah in action. Hashem begins to reveal Himself to Moshe, saying, “I appeared to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Yaakov as “E-l Shad-dai,” but My Name Hashem I did not make known to them.” Now, the redemption is personal, immediate, and tangible. G’ulah moves from promise to reality.

Chazal teach that even in the midst of hardship, Hashem’s plan is at work. The makos are not just punishments – they are messages, a way to open hearts, to prepare Pharaoh and the people for change. Every moment of struggle carries within it the seed of redemption.

Moshe Rabbeinu’s courage continues to grow. Despite Pharaoh’s hardness of heart, he speaks truthfully and persistently. The Sforno notes that Moshe’s faithfulness is rooted in unwavering trust in Hashem. Even when the path seems blocked, and even when the journey feels impossible, Moshe acts with clarity and purpose. G’ulah often comes through persistence and steadfastness.

Parshas VaEira reminds us that Hashem’s presence is revealed in stages. Even when the world feels dark, the signs of redemption are unfolding. Every makah, every miracle, every step of Moshe’s leadership is a lesson: Hashem is at work, shaping history, and shaping us.

Sometimes, the first sign of g’ulah is simply seeing the hand of Hashem guiding even the most difficult moments.
