The surge of technology in recent years has created a plethora of issues for talmidim in the Torah world. From addictive games to immoral content, the recent surge has had a significant impact on students’ quality of life, peer interactions, and productivity. Thus, Metivta Tiferet Torah created a unique program in 2021 to help mitigate the wave of technology in the students’ lives: The ReConnect Technology Program.

The Hebrew Academy of Nassau County is proud to announce the Class of 2023 Valedictorian and Salutatorians. Principal Rabbi Eli Slomnicki proudly remarked, “We take great pride that all three honorees have benefited from a complete K-12 HANC education! Our valedictorian, Adina Lippman, has distinguished herself in her scholarship both in General Studies and Limudei Kodesh, synthesizing passion for 21st century learning with a strong pursuit of the sciences and Torah exemplifying an ideal HANC student.  Co-salutatorians Ariela Haftel and Yaron Rahmani are Torah U’madda scholars.  Their commitment to Torah lishma along with the pursuit of general knowledge sets a tone of aspiration for their peers. 

As graduation season approaches, the Seniors are finishing their classes, many are preparing for their exam with Rav Hershel Schachter shlita, they are completing their AP exams and going on a Senior Trip. Leading up to their completion of their time in high school, the MTA talmidim enjoyed a special evening together. On Wednesday, May 17, MTA celebrated the Class of 2023 with a two-part event.

SINAI Schools will hold their annual Unique Inspirations Student Art Show on Wednesday, June 7, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Kew Gardens Hills home of Sruli and Shandi Glaser. Generously sponsored by Bear Givers, the family-friendly event will feature artwork of students at its Irving Montak SINAI School@SAR Academy and SINAI@YCQ campuses, created through SINAI’s Paley-Mironov Art Therapy Program.

On Tuesday, May 23, HANC High School’s 11 teams of engineering students participated in The Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education (CIJE) Innovation Day. Students from across the country were tasked with creating Capstone Projects that help to solve a problem by using an Arduino to engineer their designs and create a final product.  “Following the engineering design process is key to completing any innovation or invention.  I taught my students how to effectively track the plans for their projects and complete the requirements,” explained Professor Amrit Singh, HANC High School’s Engineering, Physics. and Math teacher.
