Dear Alice,

After months of hard work, I have finally reached my goal weight. I am so thankful and thrilled that all my efforts have paid off. Mixed with my joy, however, is shock at the comments that I have been getting from some of my friends. My friends have said things like “You are becoming anorexic,” “Your face is too skinny,” or “You are obsessed with food.” Where is this negativity coming from? It is really upsetting and quite hurtful.

Q: Rabbi, thank you for your efforts to help us become healthier.

I am 60 years old. Weight is not an issue, B”H, looking to do my part in staying healthy and increasing energy. I don’t do any exercise and sit most of the day.

With energy costs steadily increasing, many homeowners are considering the option of converting to solar energy. Solar panels provide renewable energy by capturing the sun’s energy and transforming it into electricity. Solar power provides clean energy without emitting unsafe greenhouse gases that are the typical by product of conventional fossil energy. In addition to clean energy, solar power can also be more cost efficient. Per Heshy Drew, a solar expert, home owners’ interest in solar energy is indeed motivated by their desire to reduce their monthly utility bill.
