On Tuesday, March 12, an extremely meaningful Career Readiness Workshop, sponsored by Project Lead, took place at Simcha Palace in Kew Gardens Hills. Over 100 participants attended the extremely informative and engaging event. The presenters included Dr. Inessa Kandov, DDS, a Board-Certified specialist in orthodontics= and dental facial orthopedics; Rebbetzin Ora Nisanov, Director of Medical Records and Health Information Manager at Union Plaza Care Center in Flushing; Miriam Friedman, Director, NYC FACTS Educational Solutions; Irina Yadgarova, an accomplished attorney focusing on trusts and estates, probates, and administration and elder law; and Channah Ginsburg, MSW, community outreach and clinician at Met Council's Family Violence Services program. All of the talented and inspiring presenters discussed their careers, their education, and the balance between family and career. The group then broke into five different workshop groups, which were extremely well-received. In addition, Sara Castelli brought greetings from Councilwoman Lynn Schulman.

This momentous engagement was matched by connector Shani Goldschmidt of Queens, New York and underscores YUC’s 15-year commitment to fostering meaningful relationships throughout the broader Orthodox Jewish community. In celebration of this milestone, YUC is launching a CauseMatch fundraising campaign with matching dollars starting April 7, with the goal of raising $300,000. These funds will support the expansion of YUC’s programming and staffing to better serve its growing membership.

New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, together with a delegation of Council members from throughout the city, which included Majority Whip Selvena Brooks-Powers (Far Rockaway), Shahana Hanif (Boro Park), Lincoln Restler (Williamsburg), Jennifer Gutierrez (Williamsburg), Mercedes Narcisse (Mill Basin, Marine Park) and Chris Bank (Canarsie), visited Central Hatzalah Headquarters in Boro Park this past Wednesday.
