The Most Predictable Assassination Attempt Ever

Dear Editor:

The attempted assassination of Donald Trump might be the least shocking, near cataclysmic event to occur in our political history. For years, we have been told lies that if Donald Trump is elected, he will be a fascist dictator who will end our democracy. Apparently, the entire left-wing media has forgotten that, unlike Biden, Trump actually governs as a political moderate, because comparisons to Hitler are commonplace among left-wing media outlets.

A few months ago, The Washington Post ran an op-ed with the title “Yes, it’s okay to compare Trump to Hitler.” The New Yorker ran a similar headline recently. New York Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman said a few months ago that Trump should be “eliminated” over his role in the January 6 riot. And last week Biden said, “It’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.”

With Democrats intentionally turning the political rhetoric up to previously unseen levels, it was only a matter of time before someone took a shot at Trump. And this isn’t a retrospective take. Many conservative commentators from Buck Sexton to Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, Dan Bongino, Glenn Beck, and dozens of others predicted an assassination attempt on Trump. How did they all know this?

Just follow the political trail over the past year and you can see how this was the last best option for Democrats to beat Trump – by killing him. They already tried unsuccessfully to bankrupt him, tie him up in courts with trials based on phony and in some cases unprecedented charges, jail him, and use the legal system to get him kicked off the ballot. And with all that, he’s still beating Biden handily in most polls.

What other options were left for Democrats other than having him murdered?! In order to maintain the illusion that Democrats care about democracy, none of them explicitly called for the murder of Trump, but what were Democrats expecting to happen when for years on end they called Trump a fascistic orange Hitler? In a country of nearly 400 million people, it is hardly surprising that someone would take them seriously and in turn take a shot at killing Trump.

Most lefty commentators refuse to make the connection between the inflamed rhetoric of the Democrats and the assassination attempt on Trump; but when one thinks about it logically, their rhetoric, if taken at face value, appeals to a large swath of Democratic supporters, not just clinically insane people.

Remember, Hitler killed 11 million people. If someone actually believed Trump was the next Hitler and we were on the brink of Nazi rulership, it would be a moral imperative to kill Trump. And that’s precisely why Democrats ratcheted up the rhetoric so high. They know their failed policies are reviled by most, and they cannot beat Trump fair and square, so they resort to any means possible to have him eliminated. It’s an inside-out game. The thugs in the suits and ties call Trump a fascist and then the street thugs come in and do the dirty work.

The Democratic Party disgraced itself a long time ago, but this latest episode is a new low and, arguably, the most despicable chapter in modern political history.

The Dangers of DEI

Dear Editor:

When Joe Biden came into the office of the Presidency, he made Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) the centerpiece of the hundreds of sweeping executive orders he signed into law. DEI would be factored into all federal hiring going forward. Gone were the days of merit-based hiring; we had entered a new era where skin color and gender would now be factors in whether one was fit to be hired by the federal government. This all sounded great, especially to woke leftists, but the dirty details on DEI, which is not even a secret, is it lowered the traditional qualifications necessary to land federal employment. It might not seem like such a big deal if we have less qualified farmers or accountants within the federal workforce, but when the government starts employing under-qualified pilots or surgeons, the effects can be dire.

When I saw the initial footage of the Trump assassination attempt after Shabbos, my first take was this was an inside job. I’m not a conspiracy theorist by nature (although I am guilty of never believing that Covid came from a wet market, that Trump was a Russian stooge, or that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation). But watching the epic failures of the Secret Service, including the failure to follow even the basic protocols, made me question for a hot second whether this was all a setup.

For instance, how was a rooftop 130 yards away from the President not secured? Why were multiple audience members warning of a shooter on the roof ignored by authorities? Why did the Secret Service snipers, who were in position, wait for the shooter to fire off seven rounds before killing him? Why wasn’t Trump immediately removed from the stage? The three minutes it took to get him off the stage into the van is an insanely long time, especially with the possibility of multiple shooters still on the scene. (For context, when Reagan was shot, within seconds he was physically picked up around his waist by a secret service agent and tossed onto the floor of an armored limo.) Those who watched the video of the Secret Service getting Trump into the van were treated to what can only be described as a Three Stooges routine. Three women who, to put it generously, did not appear to be in the greatest shape, were having a hard time keeping up with the frenzied situation. One of them couldn’t figure out where to stand and another couldn’t figure out how to holster her gun. Also unexplained was how these women, who are all significantly shorter than Trump, were part of the group designated to physically shield Trump once the first shots were fired.

Then I did a little research on the Secret Service and realized that they also have been subject to the DEI agenda and lowered standards significantly with the goal of turning the force 30% female by 2030. Until Joe Biden became President, the Secret Service had one job: to keep their protectees safe. Now that Biden has DEI’d everything, including the Secret Service, their own director is a diversity hire! Biden hired a woman named Kim Cheatle, who’s last job, prior to becoming director of the Secret Service, was as head of security for Pepsi. (This prompted Elon Musk to tweet: “So before being in charge of protecting the President, she was guarding bags of Cheetos.)

Now it all makes sense. This was not an inside job. This was just DEI (Dangerous, Egregious, and Idiotic) put into practice. Trump, who is likely the most threatened person on the planet, applied for significantly more Secret Service protection and was inexplicably denied. The pathetic excuse for protection they assigned him got extremely lucky that Trump turned away from the bullet fired at him. DEI came within a millimeter of killing Trump. Let’s all hope that Trump is now properly protected, and when he wins the Presidency in November, Trump does everything he can to eliminate the damage that the scourge known as “DEI” has inflicted on so many of our institutions.

Dear Editor:

In a recent article, Suzie Steinberg wrote about the challenges that she and her family faced in arranging for a wedding with the local Rabbanut [in Israel]. In particular, she wrote, “To get married in Israel, the couple must register with the Israeli Rabbanut by opening a file (“tik nisuin”) at their local religious council.”

Actually, there is an organization that was founded largely because the Rabbanut bureaucracy is so often difficult and annoying to navigate, that make it much easier to arrange for a wedding. I was able to use them to arrange for my son’s upcoming wedding, and it saved me many of the headaches she described.

That organization is Tzohar, and they can be contacted through their website at tzohar-eng.org. I highly recommend their services.

Sixth Sense

Dear Editor:

This letter is addressed to the male readers of this paper. It is time that you turn to your wives and appreciate them for their “binah.” They have the sixth sense that many men are missing. Whatever they tell you – from “You are not wearing that old tie again” to “Get up and go to Daf Yomi and minyan” – are words of wisdom.

What has brought this to mind are my regrets to those men who have wives like Jill Biden. What is going through her head? Sure, it’s nice to wear designer clothes, be on the cover of Vogue, and have catered meals three times a day. However, how did she manage not to jump out of her skin when she heard (although at times that was impossible) her husband mumble his way through responses at the debate? She should have grabbed his hand and escaped to the beaches of Delaware.

Women, know your husbands! Despite what their mothers believe, they are not all the Gaon MiVilna, nor are they all Einsteins. That’s okay. See them for what they are. Recognize their weaknesses, both physical and cognitive. Love them for who they are, not who you wish they were. The good news is that one day they will thank you for your clear thinking. That might be a good time to ask for a diamond bracelet or necklace.

Stare Decisis Is Not Always Applicable

Dear Editor:

Warren Hecht argues that the United States Supreme Court is radically conservative and does not respect the doctrine of Stare Decisis. He points to their overturning the 50-plus-year-old case of Roe v. Wade decision as proof of this. Three points to consider here:

1) The court in Roe v. Wade was an awful decision from a legal standpoint, as the court invented a Constitutional right to an abortion. Just speculating here, but I’d doubt that’s what the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote it up.

2) Mr. Hecht implies that the conservatives on the Court are not deciding cases on their merits and instead have politicized their decisions. If so, they’ve done a horrible job, as Republicans, two years into the Biden Reign of Error, got spanked in the midterm elections, largely due to the Court’s decision on abortion.

3) When a prior Supreme Court decision is grossly unjust, it needs to be overturned. Had Amendments to the Constitution not effectively overturned the Supreme Court’s decision in 1857 upholding slavery in the Dred Scott case, would Mr. Hecht be in favor of applying Stare Decisis there? Unlikely, I suspect.

My point is that all cases should be decided on the merits, and while Stare Decisis should be considered, if a preceding case is bad law or clearly not in sync with our Constitution, the Supreme Court should not be bound by precedent.

Dear Editor:

Thanks to President Clinton, illegals are now being registered to vote. He signed into law that DMVs and other state agencies must have registration to vote available. This past week, 198 Democrats, including Grace Meng and Gregory Meeks, voted against the SAFE Act. The bill prohibits non-US citizens from voting in our elections. There is no way the bill will be brought up on the floor of the Senate for a vote by our pathetic senior senator. President Biden has already come out and said he would veto the bill.

Over ten million illegals have entered this country in the last three and half years, and this was the Democrats’ plan all along. It is already costing New York City over $1 billion to house these illegals in fancy hotels turned shelters. Are you happy your tax dollars are being used for these purposes?

Further, your representatives in Congress don’t just condone the illegality, but are complicit in this! That is a clear violation of their oath of office, which states to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States.” How much more proof do you need that the Democrats are only interested in power?

Here’s more. Democrats are now in an uproar to replace President Biden on the 2024 ballot for President. There is talk about the Vice President and cabinet upholding their constitutional oath to use the 25th Amendment to remove President Biden. That would make Vice President Harris the President of the United States. By not using the 25th Amendment right now, and only make a move to remove Joe Biden from the ballot in November, further demonstrates that this is all about winning the election and not what is good for the country.

Mr. Hecht must be so angry that Plessy v. Ferguson was overturned by Brown v. Board of Education. After all, stare decisis. There have been several horrible decisions the Supreme Court has handed down – Dred Scott and Korematsu to name a couple. It is the court’s job to make sure that the Constitution is adhered to. If it is not, it is their job to rule against it. The states are now free to kill all the babies they want. It is not enshrined in our Constitution that one may murder an unborn child.

I’m sorry, Mr. Hecht, that you’re upset by that, despite our Torah saying over and over how precious life is and there’s a mitzvah to have children.

Our constitution also does not give authority to the Executive Branch to write laws. Again, this court has found that this administration has overstepped its bounds on more than one occasion. If you’re so disturbed by this court’s faithfulness to our Constitution, I hear North Korea is a great place to live.

How many times have I pointed out that the Left is constantly calling President Trump, “Hitler”? The rhetoric on the left was a call to arms. The Left always resorts to violence. Just ask the Jewish students at Cooper Union or Columbia University, who locked themselves in a library to keep the mob from attacking them.

Finally, someone on the Left picked up that call to arms and shot President Trump. We hope and pray for his recovery and well-being.
