The Kew Gardens Hills community gathered on Sunday, April 19, for a joyous hachnasas sefer Torah ceremony. The event was hosted by the Baal-Lev, Babadzhanov, Borochov, and Mashkabov families in loving memory of their parents and grandparents, Dovid Chai & Mazal Tova Borochov a”h and Avraham & Sara Babadzhanov a”h.

The celebration began with k’sivas ha’osiyos at the family home on 73rd Avenue, located directly across the street from Yeshivas Bnei Torah. Following the completion of the final letters, a festive leviyah and hakafos commenced, enhanced by a Torah truck, flaming torches, and pekalech for the children.

Community members danced with fervor as the Torah was escorted around the block to its home at the Milchamta Shel Torah beis midrash, where the sefer Torah was formally installed into the aron kodesh.
