The KTT Youth Department’s annual Chanukah event, held at KTT in the YCQ Jr. High multipurpose room, brought parents and children together for a celebration that was both festive and communal.
Children moved from activity to activity, proudly decorating donuts, enjoying a hearty latke-and-potato-bar lunch, and posing for photos in front of a towering inflatable menorah that quickly became the unofficial landmark of the event.

One of the standout moments was the live animal show, which had children sitting on the edge of their seats. They watched and interacted with a variety of animals—from fluffy rabbits and colorful birds to reptiles that challenged even the bravest among them. The show was both entertaining and educational, giving children a hands-on experience.

The excitement continued with a raffle that brought plenty of cheers. Children beamed as their names were called, walking away with games, toys, and Chanukah-themed prizes.

The event was generously sponsored by Stress Free Kids LLC, whose involvement added an important layer of support for families. Representatives were on hand with clear, helpful information about navigating Department of Education services, including ABA/BCBA, SETSS, PT/OT/SLP, counseling, and other special education supports. Through easy-to-understand materials and direct conversations, parents learned how Stress Free Kids helps families—at no cost—secure the services their children are entitled to, particularly in cases where services are delayed, incomplete, or overlooked.

A heartfelt thank you was also extended to the dedicated members of Queens Shmira, who stepped in on extremely short notice to provide public safety coverage.
