Colors: Blue Color

On Sunday, December 15, congregants from The Young Israel of Queens Valley gathered at the synagogue for a day of community service benefitting Hindi’s Libraries, a nonprofit that collects new and gently used books to donate around the world in memory of a 32 year old educator, Dr. Hindi Krinsky. To date, Hindi’s Libraries has collected more than 75,000 books which are distributed to approximately 375 organizations spanning across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Israel, and India.

The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP®) has recognized NewYork-Presbyterian Queens and NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center as two of 88 ACS NSQIP participating hospitals that have achieved meritorious outcomes for surgical patient care in 2018. As a participant in ACS NSQIP, each institution is required to track the outcomes of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures and collect data that assesses patient safety and can be used to direct improvement in the quality of surgical care.

The Young Israel of Queens Valley is pleased to announce its very own Youth Minyan, scheduled to begin on December 28 at 9:15 a.m. According to its constitution, the minyan strives to “foster a program of spiritual and communal activity towards the advancement and perpetuation of Orthodox Judaism.” It also aims to “instill into its constituents an understanding and appreciation of Judaism.”
