Exemplifying its role as the flagship Jewish University, Yeshiva University presents the YU Isru Chag Concert, starring Ishay Ribo, on October 18, at the International Convention Center (Binyanei Hauma) in Jerusalem. This will be an evening of joy, unity and song, bringing an exuberant and moving end to the holiday of Sukkot.
“This concert will be an unforgettable evening for the YU community, especially our YU students studying in Israel,” said Stephanie Strauss, Executive Director of YU Israel and Assistant Vice President for Israel Strategy and Enrollment. “YU has launched numerous educational, cultural and business focused programs in Israel that are centered around our vibrant Jerusalem campus. This concert is a great way to celebrate YU’s presence in Israel and honor our unbreakable bond with the State and people of Israel.”
Through YU’s S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program (SDAIP), over 2,000 students spend their first year studying Torah at yeshivot and seminaries throughout Israel, while experiencing the amazing cultural enrichment of the Holy Land. YU also recently launched the Torat Tziyon program, creating another path for YU students to spend a semester “abroad” in Israel, learning Torah and fulfilling academic requirements from YU’s Jerusalem campus. Many YU students go on to make Aliyah after graduation.
Yeshiva University has enjoyed an increasing number of partnerships and joint projects with Israeli universities and institutions, including Hebrew University, Bar-Ilan, the Technion in Haifa, and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. This fall, YU will be opening the Jerusalem Therapy Center to provide affordable mental health counseling to English speakers, gap-year students, soldiers and many others who may need this vital service in Israel.
On the reciprocal side of the “YU-Israel superhighway,” visiting professors from Israel are also making significant contributions in cybersecurity, technology and other fields at YU’s New York campuses. Launched in 2019 in partnership with Yissum (the Hebrew University’s technology transfer company), YU’s Innovation Lab created a vehicle to bring Israeli ingenuity to the US. The “I-Lab” is now home to 50 scaling Israeli start-ups that benefit from passionate, values-driven YU student interns, while giving the students firsthand experience in the industry, and a taste of the Israeli innovation ecosystem.

Ishay Ribo is an acclaimed Israeli singer known for his poignant and heartfelt music. His songs inspire many to connect with ancient Jewish prayers and celebrate Judaism’s profound collective ancestry through the experiential medium of music.
This is the second YU Ishay Ribo Concert organized by Yeshiva University. In May 2022, Ishay Ribo performed during YU’s expanded commencement celebration, an event that drew over 16,000 people to Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York. YU is proud to continue the celebration of its students and its deep connection to Israel with the YU Ishay Ribo Concert in Jerusalem.
