K’hal Adas Yereim of Kew Gardens hosted their annual Tu Bishvat Mesiba this past Sunday, January 16, at their Metropolitan Avenue beis hakenesses, Bais Bracha Simcha Hall. The 72nd yearly event was a tribute to the meyased of the shul, Rav Yankel (Avraham Yaakov) Teitelbaum zt”l and Rav Shlomo Teitelbaum zt”l, who led the kehillah for over 50 years.

The program evoked memories, as those gathered heard from Rabbi Shmuel Lefkowitz, HaRav Mordechai Respler, and R’ Bernie Shafran about HaRav Menachem Moshe Teitelbaum zt”l, HaRav Yisrael Mordechai Teitelbaum, and Mrs. Feiga Miriam Leiser, all children of Rav Yaakov Teitelbaum.

Notably in attendance were Rabbi Wolpin, father of the current mara d’asra; Rav Avrohom Chaim Moshe Wolpin, a son-in-law of Rav Shlomo Teitelbaum zt”l; Rav Binyomin Mittel; Rav Leibel Rockove (all pictured), and Rav Dovid Willig, Rav Aryeh Sokoloff, and Rav Ephraim Tannenbaum. The shul’s presidium members Dr. Daniel Norowitz and R’ Aaron Cyperstein both were instrumental in the event’s organization.
