Eyes are known to be the windows of the soul, and usually the first noticeable feature on a person’s face. Big eyes can make your face look brighter, more awake, and detract from your facial flaws. The following simple tips can help you achieve that look.

  1. Tweezing -Shaping your brows can make a huge difference and adds structure and balance to your face. Brows that have space between themalso give the illusion of bigger eyes.  Bold and well-kept brows frame and bring attention to the windows of your soul.  If you have empty or sparse spots, fill them in with an eyebrow pencil.  This will create fuller brows and add dimension to your face.

  1. Concealer - Dark circles or puffiness under your eyes can cause them to look droopy and tired. Be sure to use the correct shade of concealer to cover those under-eye circles. Make sure it blends well into your foundation. You can also use an illuminating concealer to further brighten your eyes. Remember to set your concealer with powder for a long-lasting effect.

  1. Voluminous Lashes -Using an eyelash curler can be a great way to open up your eyes and make you look more awake. Next, add a thick coat of mascara tolengthen and volumize your lashes. Thick and wispy lashes are a great way to enhance your look. You can also add extra mascara or a few fake lashes to the outer third of the eye. This will help achieve the illusion of bigger eyes.

  1. Eyeliner - When applying a dark color liner, you can only tightline your upper waterline, as this will give the look of fuller lashes. Tightlining the lower waterline with a dark shade will actually make your eyes appear smaller. Instead, opt for a white eyeliner in this area to give the illusion of a brightereye.

  1. Highlighting Technique - Adding a dash of shimmer to the inner corners of your eyes will really make them pop.  Once you’ve finished applying your eyeshadow, you can use a soft, shimmery shade and apply to the inner (V) corner, of your eye. This shimmer will help brighten your eyes.

  1. Creating a Fake Crease – Typically, a brown eyeshadow in the crease can accentuate it. To create the illusion of a bigger eye, you can place a soft contour color, a bit higher than usual. Then, apply a light shimmery shade on your eyelids and browbone area. This will make your eyes look more prominent.

  1. If you have a very small lid, apply a thinner line as your top eyeliner. Then add a cat eye wing to elongate the eyes, by making it slightly thicker at the outer corners.

Eyes are beautiful in all shapes and sizes. If you want to make your eyes to pop and look more prominent, try incorporating some of these makeup techniques, which will help accentuate them. This is especially effective on days when your eyes look droopy or tired.
