This week, in preparation for Yom Kippur, the grade 5 students at the Yeshiva of Central Queens headed to Flushing Meadow Park to participate in the Tashlich ceremony, and grades 1-5 students symbolically performed Kaparos.
Hadar Bet Yaakov’s multifaceted approach to Chodesh Elul, t’shuvah, and new beginnings infused students with positivity and warmth. Girls enjoyed a meaningful “HBY Challah Bake” with activity director Ms. Miriam Yakubov, where girls learned about the davening opportunities inherent in each step of challah making.
Midrash L’man Achai High School for Boys, based in Kew Gardens Hills, began the school year with educational hands-on activities in preparation for the Yamim Tovim. The bachurim studied the intricacies of the shofar and learned about the various forms of a ram’s horn. The boys then took turns blowing from the shofaros.
Classrooms are busy with rotations and small group learning which helps students reach their potential and helps teachers understand each child’s specific skills and needs.
Seventh grade students build their own molecular models using clay as atoms and toothpicks as bonds.
Students at SINAI@YCQ enjoyed making their own ice cream sundaes as a special treat at the beginning of the school year for completing their summer homework assignments. What a sweet start to a new year!
