This past Motza’ei Shabbos, February 8, a moving melaveh malkah was held at Yeshiva Ohel Simcha in memory of Miriam bat Osnat a”h (Pinkhasov) on the occasion of her first azkarah. Organized by Chazaq in conjunction with Lev Miriam, an organization run by her friends in her memory, brought together family, friends, and members of the Queens Jewish community to honor her legacy. The evening not only paid tribute to Miriam’s life but also shed light on the vital importance of communal support for at-risk youth.

On the evening of Wednesday, February 5, the Jewish community of Kew Gardens Hills gathered for a special reception on behalf of P’eylim / Lev L’Achim. The event, graciously hosted by Dr. Elie and Golda Fried, was a momentous occasion in support of an organization dedicated to bringing Jews closer to their heritage.

On Monday, January 27, Rabbi Simantov Yanetz, the esteemed leader of the Bukharian Jewish Congregation of Briarwood, had the honor of hosting Rav Yosef Dovid Teitelbaum, the Sassover Rebbe from Eretz Yisroel. I had the privilege of accompanying Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak Friedman, the leader of K’hal Beis Yosef D’Ulem, whose rebbetzin is related to the Rebbe, to meet him at Rabbi Yanetz’s residence in Briarwood for a meaningful visit and l’chaim.
