“Home is where the heart is” is often used to describe what really matters when putting down roots. For Rabbi Michael Fuzaylov and his wife Dina, “the heart” is being with Emet students. The couple and their young family recently moved from Kew Gardens to Forest Hills. It was not the typical move – usually driven by the need for more space or to be closer to family and friends. In fact, the Fuzaylovs did the opposite. They left their comfortable existence in a community they loved, all to be able to share the beauty of Shabbos and Yom Tov with Emet students.

The National Council of Young Israel (NCYI) last week sent a letter to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she claimed that the United States “is running concentration camps on our southern border,” in which it criticized her decision to invoke Holocaust-related terminology as part of a political debate (The full text of the letter appears below).

On Monday evening, June 17, Yeshivas HaMasmidim held its end-of-year siyum celebration at the Agudath Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, in the Yeshiva of Central Queens. The celebration was for the boys in grades 3-6 who came every Monday night since Sukkos to do extra learning together in groups with rebbeim. Rabbi Chaim Dov Wahrman, Director of Yeshivas HaMasmidim, pointed out, “It is special to work with children who come after school to learn Torah.”
