NewYork-Presbyterian Queens held a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday, March 19, to celebrate the opening of a new Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMU). The PIMU will provide an increased level of care from the pediatric team, 24 hours a day, to serve acutely ill children and those with illnesses whose condition requires a longer hospital stay. The PIMU is also now the only location in Queens with specialized video electroencephalography technology to observe and track seizures in children with epilepsy and other seizure disorders.

In a continued push to reclaim the streets and reduce crime, detectives from Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz’s office teamed up with NYPD officers from the 107th Precinct to execute a targeted scooter removal operation. Undercover and uniformed units moved in on a dozen illegally parked and unregistered scooters, removing them from public thoroughfares. In one case, investigators confirmed that the scooter was stolen, a reminder that these seemingly innocuous vehicles often play a role in broader criminal activity.

Rabbi And Mrs. Neuman To Be Honored At Bais Yaakov Ateres Miriam Dinner This Motzaei Shabbos

А smile at the beginning of the day. A warm hello. A concerned "How are you?” These seemingly simple memories of Rabbi Moshe Neuman shlita are what generations of students of the Bais Yaakov Academy of Queens hold dear in their hearts. From the years 1961 to 2011, Rabbi Moshe Neuman was at the helm of this Queens institution, shepherding it from a school of 27 students in a tiny building in Corona to a school of close to 850 students in a four-story building in Kew Gardens. Throughout those years, Rabbi Neuman was a consistent and reliable presence for all the girls who learned at Bais Yaakov.
