Community leadership often happens around conference tables and in government offices. Recently, however, it took place in the home of Aaron Cyperstein, President of Chaverim of Queens and Co-President of Khal Adas Yereim of Kew Gardens, where local leaders – including Chavi Baron, Benjy Ginsberg, Shmuel Schechter, Shlomo Levy, Mark Harris, R’ Daniel Pollack, R’ Avrohom Hecht, R’ Leibel Rockove, and R’ Chaim Welcher—gathered for a productive discussion with Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi.

On Tuesday, the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center (OUA), the federal policy arm of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, endorsed the recently introduced Student Protection and University Accountability (SPUA) Act. OUA is proud to have worked with the House Committee on Education and Workforce and Representatives Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Laura Gillen (D-NY) in drafting this critical legislation.
