Dear Editor:

I’ve seen a lot of criticism of the Democrats and President Biden regarding Israel. Some are warranted, some I feel are not, and of course some are just an attempt to score political points. But as all that goes on, you have former President Trump saying that Israel has to “get it over with” so they can “get back to normalcy and peace.” The only hostages he ever talks about are what he calls “the January 6 hostages.”

And just now, at a rally on the day that Israel was being attacked by Iran, he stopped his speech to allow a chant of “Genocide Joe” to build, as if it was a campus demonstration, and then repeated “they’re not wrong” four times before continuing with his remarks. Can someone explain that to me?

Pocketbooks

Dear Editor:

Wait! Stop! I know you women are n’shei chayil and you are proud of yourselves for having cleaned every nook and cranny in your house. You’ve Q-tipped the folds in your dining room chairs and the corners of the rooms in your house. Your fridge is pristine, and your oven looks like the new one you bought umpteen years ago. Your ceiling fans have turned from black to white even though you’ve never sat on them and eaten. I’m here to remind you: “Don’t forget that oversized hobo bag that you bought in the Lower East Side or at T. J. Maxx and spent a few weeks’ salary on.”

Now is the time to call in a cleaning crew or two maids to clean out every crevice in the pocketbook. Why, you might ask yourself, did you collect every roll on the table in the restaurant, put them in a napkin, insert them in your bag, and take them home when you don’t even eat rolls? You simply wanted to get your $22 worth of food that the lasagna didn’t cover. Why did you put half-eaten power bars in your pocketbook when you don’t even like them? It could be because you heard stories of people getting stuck on the road with no food or water. Why did you put the cherry Danish from the bris in your pocketbook? Could it be because you wanted to save yourself $3?

So, get out that vacuum from “Men in Black” and Black and Decker that bag out. Maybe our grandmothers were right about those granny packs.

 Chag Kasher V’Samei’ach!
Debbie Horowitz

Dear Editor:

Thank you for publishing Gerald Harris’ article in the April 11 edition of the Queens Jewish Link about the new skyscrapers in New York. The skyline may look beautiful, but I don’t understand the value of these high-rise buildings if the residential towers will be unaffordable for ordinary people. More skyscrapers may increase the fame of our city and attract new businesses and tourism, but as they proliferate, it will change New York City into a city of pied-a-terre homes, where the wealthy stay for only a few weeks a year.

The Latest Covid-19 Study Results

Dear Editor:

Great news for the masses who lack critical thinking skills: A recent Centers for Disease Control study has found that mRNA vaccines for the Covid-19 virus are NOT linked to cardiac deaths in young people.

I am not a virologist, an epidemiologist, or an expert on vaccines, so I will refrain from getting into the weeds on why this so-called “study” is nonsense but I will raise two points:

The CDC and Big Pharma are essentially working hand in glove. A Harvard University study from last year found that between 2004 and 2020 more than half the staff at the CDC left for employment with Big Pharma. This revolving door makes the CDC extremely vulnerable to corruption. Having future Big Pharma executives examining research and in charge of compliance on current Big Pharma products would be roughly the equivalent of the LAPD appointing OJ Simpson to run their investigation into who killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

2) There is no legitimate reason why a healthy young person should assume whatever risk is associated with Covid-19 vaccines, as the upside for young, healthy people taking the Covid vax was always dubious and has never been buttressed with any convincing evidence. Moreover, young healthy people were never in the high-risk class for death from Covid-19, a fact initially hidden and currently glossed over by the CDC.

Again, I have no expertise in any science-related field, so feel free to dismiss this as just one layman’s opinion. But, I’m open-minded, and if someone reading this has a different perspective on this, I would love to understand how, as of today, the CDC is still recommending Covid-19 shots for everyone over the age of six months.

Trump vs. Clown Car of Corruption

Dear Editor:

Much ink has been spilled on the lawfare/election interference waged against Donald Trump. I, like many, have contended that these cases are all political machinations of ill-motivated actors. When one peruses the list of immoral, dishonorable, sleazy, and criminal actors that are trying their hardest to take out Trump, it’s hard to take any of the Trump litigation seriously.

1) Convicted extortionist and embezzler (Michael Avenatti)

2) Adulterer and perjurer (Fani Willis)

3) Adulterer and divorce fraudster (Nathan Wade)

4) Corrupt and biased judge (Arthur Engoron)

5) Corrupt judge with family ties to prosecution (Juan Merchan)

6) Adult entertainer (Stormy Daniels)

7) Convicted perjurer (Michael Cohen)

8) Prosecutor who has been credibly accused of international extortion schemes (Jack Smith)

9) Corrupt Soros-funded prosecutor (Alvin Bragg)

10) Corrupt prosecutors who campaigned off targeting Trump (Letitia James and Fani Willis).

Trump is an egomaniac, a serial philanderer, and is often prone to exaggeration, not exactly the personality traits that lend themselves to helping someone become a sympathetic character in the eyes of the public. Yet, somehow the above collection of corrupt actors have managed to do just that.
