Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe is completing the eighth year of its afterschool Mishnayos Program in memory of the three teenage k’doshim of the summer of 2014. Close to 90 boys participated in the program on a weekly basis throughout the year and are completing Maseches Bava M’tzia. This past Thursday, the participants of the program had the opportunity to meet with HaRav Chaim Yehoshua Hoberman shlita, the rosh ha’yeshivah of the Mesivta of Long Beach.

Rabbi Hoberman spoke to the talmidim about Kabalas HaTorah and quoted the Chofetz Chaim as saying that each and every one of us [them], is an integral part of B’rias HaOlam. Rabbi Hoberman extended this idea, suggesting that every mitzvah we perform, every word of Torah we learn (especially afterschool Mishnayos), could be the pinnacle of all of creation! After this inspiring and uplifting message, Rabbi Hoberman spent time greeting each of the talmidim (88 in total!) and offering brachos. In high spirits, the boys boarded the buses and returned to Yeshiva to continue their studies.

The previous day, the Mishnayos Program participants were treated to a trip as a reward for their weekly participation. The boys headed to Citi Field for a Mets vs. Nationals baseball game. With the assistance of Simcha Sauer, the boys were seated in field-level seats, and many boys were thrown balls from the outfield. Every boy enjoyed a delicious lunch that they were able to choose from the Prime Kosher Sports concession in the ballpark. A great time was had, as the Mets won 5-0. May the learning of the students be an aliyas neshamah for Naftali, Gilad, and Eyal.
