Art Therapy at IVDU LI is run by Morah Alyssa Axelrod, a super engaging art therapist, who draws every student into her sessions with warmth and creativity. Different mediums are used at each session, as students work either individually or in a small peer group to express themselves through art.

With Chanukah in the air, students created their own menorah art selecting colors and materials that were of interest to them, learning how to share space with a peer, and creating social moments naturally. Art therapy sessions are a wonderful hybrid of student-led and therapist-facilitated, maximizing the therapeutic effect in a most supportive way.
