Talmidim in grades 11 and 12 from the Business and Entrepreneurship class spent an immersive afternoon on Wall Street, turning classroom learning into a real-world experience. The visit gave students a front-row look at the history, energy, and impact of the financial district that helped shape modern markets.
“I believe that project-based learning for the real world is the best way to develop our future workforce,” said instructor Melanie Felsman. Throughout the tour, students explored how Wall Street was built and why it became the financial epicenter of North America.
Walking from the New York Stock Exchange to the Treasury area, students learned the stories behind the iconic buildings and the businesses that founded them, many of which still exist today. The experience brought history, economics, and entrepreneurship together in a tangible way.
The afternoon concluded with an interactive stock-trading simulation. Working in teams, students strategized during mock opening and closing bells, trading game pieces to build the highest-value portfolio. The winning team earned prizes, adding excitement and friendly competition to an already engaging experience.
