Orot closed out the summer with an unforgettable five-day retreat packed with laughter, inspiration, and genuine connection. From thrilling adventures to heartfelt nights of song and reflection, every moment carried the signature Orot spirit.
The retreat began with a lively pool party and delicious barbecue dinner that set the tone for the week. On Monday, the girls headed to Dorney Park, where roller coasters and endless laughter made for a day no one will forget.
Tuesday brought a mix of creativity and wonder. The group rolled out homemade tapioca pearls in a DIY boba-making workshop, crafting custom drinks to enjoy on the road. “This was my first time trying boba – and I loved it!” shared one participant. With drinks in hand, the girls explored the stunning Crystal Caves. Surrounded by breathtaking rock formations, one girl reflected, “My favorite part of today was seeing the wonders of the Creator.” The day wrapped up with mini-golf and gemstone panning, leaving everyone with souvenirs and smiles.
Wednesday turned competitive with Orot’s first-ever Chopped challenge. Teams worked with mystery ingredients to whip up creative dishes; after plenty of chaos and laughter, Simcha Yaffe was crowned champion. The night closed with “Oroti,” a heartwarming gift-exchange game that sparked laughter and strengthened friendships.
By Thursday, it was hard to believe that the retreat was coming to an end. Before heading home, the group made one final stop at American Dream Mall, enjoying the Tilt Museum, shopping, and plenty of kosher treats – a perfect finale to a week filled with fun.
But perhaps the most meaningful part of the retreat came at night, when the girls gathered for learning, reflection, and soulful kumsitzim. Those moments of connection and heartfelt singing gave the week its deepest impact.
