Chodesh Sh’vat was ushered in at Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe’s Early Childhood program with a fun and educational program. The boys gathered in the dining room after discussing the name of our new chodesh and the special Yom Tov of Tu BiSh’vat. The boys brainstormed to think of the many things we get from trees: from delicious fruits to paper and fresh air. Thank You, Hashem, for all these wonderful items that are derived from trees!

The boys had a chance to see pictures of the Shiv’as HaMinim, the seven special foods from Eretz Yisrael. Next, the boys watched an educational video on how paper is made. It was amazing to see that the thin, soft paper we use each day comes from strong, hard trees!

The program finished off with a fun and interactive game. After each class chose a representative, those boys worked together to try to figure out, “What do we get from trees?” The boys chose a box and were given a clue to see if they could guess what was under the box that comes from a tree. After a few rounds and many clever clues, the boys were able to figure out all four items; fruit, pencils, tissues, and paper.
