The National Council of Young Israel (NCYI) last Thursday strongly praised Secretary of State Mike Pompeo after he announced during a trip to Israel that the United States would classify the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, which he called a “cancer,” as anti-Semitic and would “immediately take steps to identify organizations that engage in hateful BDS conduct and withdraw US government support for such groups.”

There is an important characteristic in Judaism called hakaras ha’tov, being grateful. Every Yid must develop an awareness and a mindset that recognizes all the good that one receives and appropriately thank the Giver/giver. One of the ways in which we demonstrate our thanks to Hashem is by reciting Psalm 100 – Mizmor L’Sodah – in our weekday morning prayer service.

This past month has seen a constant bustle of activity in Emet Outreach’s Women’s Division. In fact, there have been daily opportunities for beginner to advanced students to fit Torah study into their lives, depending on their varying interests and schedules.

The Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), representing over 1,500 traditional rabbis in matters of public policy, Tuesday condemned Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) for its disinformation campaign designed to cover for modern anti-Semitic hatred. Most recently, JVP Action announced an upcoming webinar with several co-sponsors, featuring well-known activists purportedly speaking on “Dismantling anti-Semitism, Winning Justice.” None of the panelists are scholars of anti-Semitism; all are guilty of spreading it.

Kristallnacht was remembered with words of chizuk and Torah from Rabbi Yossi Mendelson and in pre-recorded videos from a Chabad emissary in Germany, and Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, who recently passed.
