Rambam Mesivta proudly announces the outstanding honorees of the Class of 2026: Valedictorian Avi Pearlman, Salutatorian Yoni Kogan, and Keter Shem Tov/Rambam Man Award recipient Jacob Gordon. Each of these young men exemplifies Rambam’s commitment to excellence in Torah, academics, and character.
Avi Pearlman, the Class of 2026 Valedictorian, has distinguished himself through his exceptional analytical abilities and deep intellectual curiosity. Avi’s passion for mathematics and problem-solving is evident in his leadership as captain of the Rambam Chess Team and as a key contributor to both the College Bowl and Math teams. Beyond his academic achievements, Avi has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to Torah learning as a dedicated member of Masmidim, Rambam’s advanced learning initiative, throughout all four years of high school. Avi will continue his growth next year at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh in Israel, and he plans to begin his studies at the Macaulay Honors College at Queens College in Fall 2027, where he will major in Mathematics.
Yoni Kogan, the Salutatorian, has made his mark as a dynamic leader, gifted communicator, and passionate writer. As co-captain of the Debate Team, President of the Civic Spirit Club, and an active participant in Mock Trial as both attorney and witness, Yoni has honed his skills in argumentation and public speaking. His interests extend beyond the classroom, as he has been actively involved in political and civic engagement across Nassau County and his native Brooklyn. Following a year at Yeshivat Orayta in Israel, Yoni will continue his academic and extracurricular pursuits at Columbia University.
The Keter Shem Tov/Rambam Man Award, given to a student who embodies the ideals of Rambam Mesivta through leadership, character, and wide-ranging involvement, has been awarded to Jacob Gordon. Jacob has distinguished himself as a leader in both the literary and athletic arenas. As Editor-in-Chief of Hamasmid, he has played a central role in shaping the school’s publication. He has also served as Assistant Director of the Model Chinuch League and is a dedicated participant in the Rambam Book Chat. Jacob will be continuing his growth in Israel at Yeshivat HaKotel next year, and he plans to attend Queens College thereafter.
Rambam Mesivta congratulates Avi, Yoni, and Jacob on their remarkable achievements and wishes them continued success as they carry forward the values of Torah, scholarship, and leadership in the years ahead.
