The eighth day of Chanukah is known as “Zos Chanukah.” Zos Chanukah has the k’dushah of the past seven days of Chanukah built up. The s’farim ha’k’doshim bring down how it’s a very auspicious time to gaze at the eight flames and daven from your heart. The day is m’sugal for one to daven for; barren women to have children, for a r’fuah sh’leimah, and for one to be blessed with increased parnasah.

The Kedushas Levi says that the days of Chanukah are an extension from Yom Kippur.

Rabbi Mordechai Finkelman shlita said in the name of Rav Moshe Wolfson zt”l that “Zos Chanukah is Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur all in one!”

Reb Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov in Sefer D’varim Nechmadim (Chanukah, 4) brings proof from the Zohar that Chanukah is a time of t’shuvah mei’ahavah, repentance out of love for Hashem.

The Toldos Aharon on Chanukah explains that, in heaven, Zos Chanukah is the g’mar chasimah of the y’mei din of Tishrei.

Reb Yisroel of Ruzhin, as quoted by his son, Reb Avrohom Yaakov of Sadiger, says that a simple Jew can receive from Hashem on Zos Chanukah what tzadikim can on Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur (Ner Yisroel 2:18).

During the days of Chanukah, as our understanding of Hashem grows and we increase our mitzvos, and correct our ways, our souls expand and have the capacity to hold more of the Divine light. This way, on the eighth day of Chanukah, we can merit extra Divine protection and an abundance of blessings individually and as a nation.

We should all be zocheh that we should have a complete kaparah and all our prayers should be answered. May we all witness the coming of Mashiach speedily in our days.
