The leadership of the Orthodox Union, the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization, issued the following statement after the announcement of the impending departure of Hon. Jason Greenblatt from the White House staff:
The Orthodox Union deeply appreciates the pivotal and impactful role Jason Greenblatt has played over the last few years in strengthening the US-Israel relationship and supporting the security and welfare of the State of Israel.
Orthodox Union president Moishe Bane stated: “Jason Greenblatt’s service to the United States and to the American Jewish community has been historic. Beyond any specific policy issues, the hallmark of Jason’s tenure has been his willingness to speak honestly about the moral dimensions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Such honesty is essential if any durable and productive progress is to ever be made.”
Orthodox Union executive vice president Allen Fagin stated: “Jason Greenblatt’s time in the Trump Administration includes the historic relocation of the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, calling out the United Nations for its anti-Israel bias, holding Palestinians accountable for their support for violence, and so much more. All Americans who are supporters of Israel are grateful for Jason’s service, and we, at the Orthodox Union, appreciate his consistent friendship and partnership with us.
Orthodox Union executive director for public policy Nathan Diament stated: “Jason Greenblatt came to DC without DC experience, and he worked diligently and professionally on one of the toughest issues – and did it well. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
Assemblymember Daniel Rosenthal was the featured guest speaker at AIPAC’s Young Leadership Event, where he spoke about the importance of Jewish young adults to engage and build relationships at all levels of government.
