Ahead of Ateret Cohanim's Tuesday evening dinner, the Queens Jewish Link arranged for the group's global spokesman, Daniel Luria, to address audiences in Great Neck this past Monday evening at Great Neck Synagogue (GNS) to a packed venue, and a Queens lecture set to take place Wednesday evening, June 5, at the Young Israel of Queens Valley.
The community-wide celebration at GNS on the eve of Yom Yerushalayim, June 3, included a riveting hour-long talk by the eloquent global spokesman. Luria is vastly knowledgeable on the world of Jerusalem, with a focus on urban land reclamation initiatives that he personally leads.
The QJL extends a special note of appreciation to Dr. Paul Brody, a GNS member, for emceeing the evening and acting alongside QJL Senior Consultant Shabsie Saphirstein as co-program initiators. Thanks also goes to Dr. Brody's esteemed wife Drora and their son Joey for participating. Dr. Brody also serves as an Executive Council member at Ateret Cohanim.
In attendance were GNS' senior spiritual leader Rabbi Dale Polakoff, GNS President Elie Cohen, GNS Assistant Executive Director Dr. Jim Frisch, Rabbi Aharon Samekhov of Beit Baruch Chai from Rego Park's Bukharian Jewish community, and noted photographer Captain Fred Shaw.
