Hyper-partisanship has claimed yet another victim – this time a person who – in normal times – would be considered a tzadik, a saintly man. And while the vultures crow over their misbegotten victory, we are all the sadder for it.

Apparently, it is one of the most important mitzvos. According to the terms set by President Trump on October 9, 2025, as part of his 20-Point Peace Plan, Hamas must completely disarm for any agreement to move forward. Total and absolute demilitarization is required. President Trump has said, “Hamas was born with rifles in their hands.” This statement highlights one of the major long-term problems Israel faces.
