Over the last few weeks, the boys in Morah Bryna’s kindergarten class have been focusing on the unit of planting. They learned all about seeds and how they are planted. They discussed where seeds are found and what they need to grow into. Sometimes it is a tree, plant, or flower and always requires sun, water, and soil. The boys had the opportunity to germinate a bean.
The boys each covered a bean with a wet paper towel and waited to see the roots begin to form. Once the beans germinated, the boys planted their beans. Now, they are making sure to water them and can’t wait to watch them grow. In math, the boys counted out seeds, glued them, and wrote the correct number. They also had the opportunity to cover the letters of their names with beans.
