This past week was quite busy at Orot. Continuing with a five-week t'fillah series, Rabbi Yitzhak Aminov explained the importance of saying the morning brachot focus on the prayer after using the restroom, Asher Yatzar. With yummy bagels and hot pancakes that the girls enjoyed, they were so inspired, many taking upon themselves to say the morning brachot every day and to say Asher Yatzar with extra kavanah. We can't wait to continue with this amazing series and grow even more in our t'filah!
Orot continued the week with a beautiful Jewish movie night for girls. Operation Candlelight is a film about a girl named Sarah struggling to adjust to her new boarding school in L.A. While preparing for a school production, Sarah and her newfound friends notice suspicious activities near their school. Thanks to their friendship and unity, they were able to save the day and learn what it really means to love their fellow Jew. It was a great way to introduce clean, Jewish films to these young girls, who enjoyed delicious popcorn, soda, and a stuffed animal!
As we approach the end of the summer, our wonderful Orot coordinators are working hard, planning the program's second annual summer retreat, which entails a four-day stay at a beautiful mansion in Pennsylvania. Dorney Park, horseback riding, and a private pool are just some of the very exciting activities that will be happening at this getaway! To join Orot's programming, contact 929-313-2177.
