On Motza’ei Shabbos, December 14, Rabbi Moshe Meir Weiss, well-known speaker and author, spoke to a large crowd at Congregation Ohel Simcha. The event was hosted by Chazq, Chickens for Shabbos, and www.DailyGiving.org.
On Motza’ei Shabbos, December 7, community members, local rabbanim, alumni of Yeshiva Kesser Torah, and supporters of the Yeshiva gathered at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills for an inspiring melaveh malkah in memory of the Rosh HaYeshiva, Rabbi Elyakim Getzel Rosenblatt zt”l. Rabbi Rosenblatt’s beautiful nigunim brought smiles to all the attendees. Mr. Michael Septimus and Mr. Michael Poulad kept the music going.
There’s a small yeshivah tucked in Holliswood, Queens, with a dramatically reduced tuition that offers an outstanding secular and Jewish education to children, grades pre-school through grade eight. This school is called Yeshiva Primary. There is an advanced computer lab and outstanding science program, writer’s workshop program, art workshop, and all English studies are taught according to the latest New York standards.
On Sunday evening, November 24, a large crowd gathered for a memorial for Mr. Nissan Yakubov a”h. Mr. Yakuov was a dearly beloved member of the Beth Gavriel community who had a tremendous impact on so many people in the community. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 50 from a type of leukemia.
On Wednesday evening, December 11, a crowd of community women gathered at Khal Nachlas Yitzchok to show support for Yad L’Achim, a vital organization that is heroically saving Jewish lives.
A standing-room-only crowd of community women packed Congregation Ahavas Yisroel on Motza’ei Shabbos, November 30, to hear Rebbetzin Tziporah Heller speak about Chanukah. Her theme was how to light up your life, bringing light to ourselves and others.
