Congress Member Ritchie Torres delivered powerful remarks as the special guest at a Sunday afternoon fundraiser in support of State Assemblymember Sam Berger. Torres is well known for his tremendous advocacy on behalf of the State of Israel and the Jewish People, and has withstood vile attacks, especially in the aftermath of the Simchas Torah massacre.

Berger won a Special Election earlier this year, filling the Assembly chair vacated by Daniel Rosenthal and since proving his worth to his constituents, seeks his own full term. Berger, as well as District Leader Shimi Pelman, spoke to supporters at the home of his parents, David and Paula Berger. While representing a sizable portion of Kew Gardens Hills as a male district leader, Pelman has established a phenomenal rapport with the echelon of New York State and City governments, bringing much attention to the needs of the greater Jewish community. Additionally, Pelman single-handedly chose Berger for this position, and has remained a staunch supporter of our frum elected official.

Attendees happily engaged in meaningful discussions about the future of our community.

Rep. Torres with AM Berger
