In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, we had a moment of moral clarity in which we seemed to recognize that the Western world was facing something very serious, and it would have to be dealt with accordingly if we hoped to preserve our civilization as a whole: America, Israel, and Europe equally. We identified the enemy as “radical Islam,” and mobilized our resources to combat it globally.

It didn’t take long for that clarity to be muddied, and almost immediately our leaders went out of their way to make distinctions between the “radical Islam” we were fighting and the “moderate Islam” we wanted to cultivate and welcome into the Western world. We seemed to bend over backwards to make it crystal clear to the Islamic world that we understood the radicals and terrorists we were fighting to be entirely separate from the rest of Islam, even if the reality was far more ambiguous than we chose to believe.

To that end, as we waged military campaigns to combat and defeat terror cells across the world, in the name of tolerance and liberalism Western nations began to open their borders to many of the very people we were fighting. As if to prove to the world — and ourselves — our moral superiority, the West spent the last 20 years or so welcoming millions of so-called “refugees” into our nations. France, Germany, the UK, and the United States built up robust infrastructure designed specifically to import people from Muslim-majority nations.

We told ourselves the pleasant fiction that these refugees were “just like us” and would enrich our nations culturally and economically. And some have. But at this point there’s no way to honestly argue that the entire project hasn’t spun out of control, leaving Western nations in turmoil.

In parts of Europe, rapes have increased by 1,000% or more over the last decade. Sweden, formerly one of the most tranquil nations on the planet, now has a very serious and ongoing problem not only with rape, but also with hand-grenade attacks. In the UK, gangs of hundreds of Pakistani men were found to have been abusing underage British girls in an organized and systematic way for over ten years straight, often as authorities ignored the victims, fearful of being accused of cultural insensitivity. Sharia courts have taken hold in Muslim neighborhoods there as well. France has entire “no-go zones” where the police simply do not enter anymore, and Paris has cancelled Christmas and New Year’s celebrations out of fear of Islamic terrorism. Christmas markets in Germany, Brussels, and Italy have been attacked by mobs of Muslims, and now need to be hardened with massive barriers and security checkpoints.

And right here in our own nation, entire cities like Dearborn and Minneapolis have seemingly been swallowed up by people who very clearly are not interested in assimilating and now openly talk about “conquering” the United States. Minnesota actually changed its state flag to more closely resemble the Somali flag. Our college campuses are now hotbeds of antisemitism, where Jewish students and professors live in daily fear. Our synagogues and Chabads now require a level of security that was previously unimaginable. Our own mayor-elect — himself a citizen of only a few years — doesn’t recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state, and is appointing a lawyer who represented Al Qaeda terrorists as the new chief counsel of New York.

None of this is normal - and none of it existed only a few years ago. It turns out that visceral hatred for Jews, Israel, America, and Western values as a whole is a fundamental belief for a great many of the people we generously welcomed and provided refuge to.

The massacre at Bondi Beach is only the latest in what has become almost two years of steady escalation by radicals. Since the 10/7 attacks by Hamas, these forces have been emboldened to an absolutely shocking degree — and it is guaranteed to only get worse, unless we take very serious action to save ourselves.

Many will not want to believe this, but we’re now facing nothing less than a global jihad the likes of which the modern world has never seen.

A few days ago, I posted on X (formerly Twitter) that we need to take this seriously, and part of that must be a conversation about how to get dangerous people out of our nation before we have another 9/11 or 10/7.

This is going to be a very difficult conversation, and it’s going to touch on a lot of ideas that might make people uncomfortable, including mass deportations of radical Muslims and those who support them (even passively), and developing a legal framework for denaturalization in some cases — because unfortunately a great many of these people have already achieved citizenship, often through fraud.

This may indeed result in massive sweeps of Muslim neighborhoods. So be it. The stakes are too high to indulge in progressive fantasies of political correctness and multiculturalism.

You may disagree that this is the answer, but it needs to be discussed, and I will not be intimidated by anyone from saying what I think needs to be said. I make no apologies for it, and I stand by my words.

Twenty-five years ago, on the eve of the war on terror, we were told that we “had to fight them there, so our kids won’t have to fight them here.” Well, something went very wrong along the way, and unfortunately we now do indeed have to fight them here.

Israel understands the nature of this war, and what we’re up against. Are we ready to do what’s necessary also?
