Bnos Malka Academy was honored to host the Michael and Irina Kimyagarov Math Tournament, welcoming students from the Barkai Yeshivah (Brooklyn), RYNJ, HALB, and the Yeshivah of Flatbush for a full day of rigorous academic competition and collaboration. Participants engaged in a range of thoughtfully designed events, including individual rounds, team-based competitions, and mixed-team challenges that encouraged interaction across schools. The tournament emphasized higher-order thinking skills, requiring students to apply logic and reasoning to solve multi-step problems and navigate complex, non-routine tasks.
Among the featured components were cryptarithms, analytical riddles, and other challenging problem sets that demanded precision, perseverance, and sophisticated thought processes. Students were pushed to think beyond standard methods, developing creative strategies while maintaining mathematical accuracy. The event provided a valuable opportunity for participants to strengthen critical thinking abilities, collaborate with peers, and deepen their appreciation for mathematics in a competitive yet supportive environment. It was a highly successful day marked by intellectual engagement, teamwork, and genuine enthusiasm for advanced mathematical problem-solving.
