It has been a vibrant return to campus at the Yeshiva University High School for Girls (Central). On Friday, April 17, the YUHSG Parents Council hosted a significant event for juniors and soon-to-be-graduating seniors: Career Day.

An annual milestone for Wildcat upperclassmen, this year’s event welcomed parents, alumnae, and community members to the Holliswood campus to provide students with perspectives on various professional paths. Representing over thirty different professions—ranging from business, marketing, and human resources to engineering, education, design, government, law, and medicine—the guest speakers offered in-depth information sessions and a career fair. It was an eye-opening morning for the students: The school extends its thanks to the Parent Council for facilitating the event and to the visitors who shared their time and expertise.

The return to campus has been given additional meaning with the observance of Yoms: Yom HaShoah, Yom HaZikaron, and Yom HaAtzmaut. Last week featured meaningful programming and reflection centered on Yom HaShoah with guest speakers and experiential learning. On Tuesday, April 21, YUHSG observed Yom HaZikaron by welcoming Avigail Scheinfeld, who shared stories and led the Wildcats in a morning of song and reflection. On Wednesday, April 22, the school celebrated Yom Ha’Atzmaut with a full schedule of informative programming. Festivities included faculty members offering Israeli-themed sessions and schmoozes on topics ranging from STEM and family histories to making aliyah. The day also included Hallel Chagigit and a special celebratory breakfast.

Later that morning, YUHSG welcomed guest speaker Lior Morgenshtern, a former IDF soldier and survivor of the Bondi Beach attack, who shared his experiences with the students. The morning activities also featured chesed work: Each of the four grades assisted in assembling milui wives’ care packages and miklat packages.

Taking AP exams and final projects in stride, the Wildcats are celebrating the conclusion of the school year while looking toward the future.
