The preschool at Bnos Malka enjoyed two special visits from community helpers. As part of learning the letter hei, a Hatzalah volunteer visited to teach the children how they help people during emergencies. Some classes even had the opportunity to peek inside the ambulance – until it had to rush off to an emergency, twice.
Later, while learning about fire safety in connection with lighting the Chanukah candles, an FDNY firefighter visited the preschool. He showed the children his uniform and explained how each piece helps keep him safe, including his fire helmet. To conclude the visit, each child received a fire safety coloring book and a red plastic fire hat to take home.
