At the Yeshiva University High School for Girls (Central), academic excellence takes many forms. From inspired coursework to programs that let students explore their passions in depth, YUHSG’s signature initiatives invite students to explore, question, and create.

Now in its third year, the Adira Rose Koffsky a”h Humanities Scholars Program, led by Humanities Chair and College Guidance Director Mrs. Rena Boord, offers an immersive experience for students with talent in literature and the arts. “There’s something about sitting in a small group and talking about literature and artwork,” Mrs. Boord said. Plans include a Broadway trip, a lecture from YU’s Dr. Ann Peters, and attending a Stern College Dramatics Society play.

Another major program is YUHSG’s Rambam Bekiut program, led by Rosh Beis Midrash Rabbi Zvi Lew, where students learn guided halachic topics all four years of high school. Rabbi Lew’s weekly lectures are featured on YU Torah. YUHSG is the only girls’ school whose program learns with YU roshei yeshivah. The Science Institute continues to develop future scientists and engineers. Junior Annabelle Klein presented research at Hofstra University, and senior Kayla Etra will present work at the Materials Research Science Conference. Students take college-level courses and conduct independent lab research.
