Over the past few weeks, Yachad participants and community partners have enjoyed a number of meaningful experiences that highlight the power of friendship, inclusion, and community involvement.
Over Chol HaMoed, Yachad participants enjoyed an action-packed day at American Dream Mall, filled with excitement, friendship, and adventure. Participants explored the mall and experienced the thrills of Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, enjoying the rides and attractions while spending quality time with friends and creating lasting memories.
Beyond the fun, outings like these provide Yachad participants with opportunities for social connection, independence, and community participation, while also offering valuable respite for parents and families. The day was made possible in part by a generous donor who gifted Yachad a significant number of tickets, helping create this memorable experience for our participants. Yachad extends its sincere appreciation for their support in helping create this special experience for our participants.
The Simchaton demonstrated the tremendous impact that can take place when a community comes together to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and feel a true sense of belonging. Yachad extends a heartfelt thank you to Rabbi Berlin, The BACH Shul, and the entire Long Beach community for their warm welcome, partnership, and commitment to creating such an uplifting and inclusive environment. Their generous support helped make this milestone celebration an especially meaningful experience for Yachad members.

Yachad was also welcomed by HAFTR Middle School as part of the school’s Chesed Fair, providing students with an opportunity to learn more about Yachad and the many ways they can become involved. Students learned about Yachad’s programs and how their participation can make a difference in the lives of Yachad participants, while also providing them with opportunities to build friendships, develop empathy, and experience the personal rewards of giving back. The students enjoyed some doughnuts while learning about the many exciting ways they can get involved with Yachad.
Through community outings, holiday celebrations, school partnerships, and volunteer opportunities, Yachad continues to create connections that extend far beyond individual events. Each experience helps build a more inclusive community – one in which individuals with disabilities have the opportunity to participate fully, form lasting friendships, discover their abilities, and feel a true sense of belonging.
Yachad is deeply grateful to the generous families, schools, synagogues, and community members whose partnership and support make these experiences possible.
