Families from across Queens filled the streets of Rego Park on Tuesday afternoon as Chabad Youth of Queens, together with the Queens Jewish Community Council and Emu Health, hosted a Grand Lag BaOmer Carnival along 65th Avenue between 99th and 102nd Streets.
The on-street celebration transformed the neighborhood into a lively festival atmosphere featuring inflatable attractions, a rock-climbing wall, petting zoo, and a performance by entertainer Joe Janicki, drawing hundreds of children and parents throughout the afternoon and evening.

The large-scale event was the result of months of planning led by Rabbi Yaakov Horovitz, who coordinated the many logistical and operational details required to safely host a carnival of this size in the heart of Queens. Additional behind-the-scenes refinements and safety-focused nuances were carefully implemented to help ensure the event ran smoothly for families and attendees of all ages.
