Council Member Sandra Ung, Democrat, District 20, has been a breath of fresh air for the communities of Flushing, Mitchell-Linden, Murray Hill, Queensboro Hill, and the flourishing Orthodox Jewish neighborhood of Fresh Meadows. The longstanding John F. Kennedy Regular Democratic Club, serving Kew Gardens Hills, Briarwood, and Kew Gardens, hosted the Council Member as their guest speaker this past Thursday evening, March 16, at their monthly meeting.

Once again, community members and activists filled the Main Street ballroom of the Jewish Center of Kew Gardens Hills to hear remarks from the club’s leadership, including Keith Felsenfeld, Esq., its President. Ung passionately spoke of her fight to rid the streets of New York from illegal street sellers that clog crowded business thoroughfares, creating a sense of lawlessness that ultimately attracts unwanted criminal elements.

Evelyn Gong, a candidate for Civil Court judge, who has been aggressively petitioning for signatures, was also on hand to share her vision. Gong was previously endorsed by dear friends of our Orthodox constituency Rep. Grace Meng, Assembly Member Daniel Rosenthal, and NYC Council Members Jim Gennaro, Linda Lee, and Sandra Ung.

Amongst the varied group of attendees were AM Rosenthal, District Leader Shimi Pelman, and Morton Povman (a former local Council Member), and community activists Jeff Gottlieb, Alan Sherman, and Howard Schoenfeld, amongst others.

The JFK Regular Democratic Club, our local political organization, meets on the third Thursday of each month. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information.
